humble is our love

never underestimate the power of love
find the one who pulls your heart strings toward theirs without doubt or fear
that they will break the trust that holds your heart intact below your barrier of bones
because love isn't "if" it grows
it is "how" it grows
so plant your love in each others soul
and care for one another daily
that is my philosophy on love
......................

in just three short weeks
garrett and i will be making our vows that we share in our hearts
made known to the world around us
and become man and wife
but we both know that it isn't just the wedding ceremony that truly makes a marriage
......................

..it is the love that you both share
and the strength you both give to keep pushing life from one valve to the other
providing the heart beat that gives your love life
the air that you both yearn to breathe
......................

 i have always told garrett
"we have something worth keeping for a long , long time"
and it wasn't just a sweet gesture that rolled off my tongue one day
i have always meant it from the moment i realized what a great love we have for one another

we simply know what we have
and we know what it takes to keep what we have
but humble is our love not prideful

we are very blessed to both be in the same state of heart
and there is no doubt that we both come from a long line of love

i pray that we both carry each other through each day
love wholesome and never let these feelings fade
we have so much to look forward to and it just makes my heart smile
thinking of all of the beautiful years to come

our vows

i vow..

to always kiss you goodnight even when you make me
really mad- because i love you and i couldn't bear the thought
of waking up one morning wishing that i would have

to love you, and only you, as long as i live

to always point out the freckle on the tip of your nose
i do it because i love it

to always put you first

to use a spoon rest in the kitchen to the best of my ability-
at least while you are around me

to never ever, ever tell you how to fry a pickle! or any other
kitchen related stuff

to stand beside you no matter what

to always be there for you in times of happiness, sadness, and all
of the in-between emotions that we will face together

to always keep pushing you to taste new foods even when
you don't want to

to do what i tell you i will do. because your trust means everything
to me

to continue spoiling you with head scratches as long as you never lose that
look in your eyes you give me every time

to always include you in any decisions that have to be made, large or small. because we are
one and we will do things as one.

to never forget the reasons why i love you so

to never stop thanking God for putting such a beautiful, caring, loving woman
in my life. and for blessing us with this special kind of love that we share.

l.o.v.e

first of all:
the movie "the vow" has to be the most precious
movie i have ever seen
and what makes it so, is the fact that it is based on a true story
i sure hope i don't ruin the movie for anyone
..listen your gonna have to stop reading this post if that is a factor..
because i'm almost ninety-nine percent sure i'm about to..

yeah so it's a movie about a newlywed couple distanced by a tragic event
who were in the end brought back together by love
and started a new beginning
see, what did i tell ya?

you just don't see that genuine love for one another much in the world today
people give up too easely
divorce is an easy alternative and it is spoken too much of these days
don't get me wrong:
there are times when divorce can't be avoided and it is totally understandable
but:
there are also times when divorce is just convenient
and that be the bible of the blues

i truly believe in the power of love
& maybe i am a hopeless romantic who would proudly vandelize
the letters L-O-V-E around the earth if the opportunity arose
but in my opinion, there should be more of us in the world

anyway, before i began my benefit for love rant..
garrett watched a few minutes of the movie with me the other night
but he had to leave and we didn't get to finish the whole movie
so i told him i would wait and watch the rest with him
..butt..
i couldn't wait
im so glad i didn't though because now i can't wait
to see garretts reaction to the part where channing tatum bares his booty to all
i told him:
" i can't wait until you watch it with me, there's a part i really want you to seeee!"
i just can't wait to marry that man
garrett smith, i mean

so since the movie gave me the love goosies
i decided it would be fun for me and garrett to write down a few vows of our own
these vows won't be read at the ceremony they are strictly personal
anything we promise to keep during our marriage whether silly or serious
and for anyone who doesn't believe in silly love
you need to take a better bite out of love
& who knows, maybe i will share a few since they are so stinkin' sweet if you'll keep reading
: )

they showered us with love

the game plan was initially to write on this blog after we got married..
..but i thought posting a little about our showers would be great
maybe even a few pictures, why not?
..the wedding is five short weeks away..
yes, im sure i counted correctly
there is so much to do still
..but it will all work out
just like it always does..

hey, here's a fun fact:
2.3 million couples wed each year in the united states
that breaks down to nearly 6,200 weddings a day!
just imagine all of the money floating around
that's insane!
how many brides are getting ready for their big day at this exact second in time?
or having a nervous breakdown for that matter?
i pray both me and garrett make it to the preacher without fainting

so i just had to throw that out there
no pressure here!

the cake in our wedding colors

he was a little excited
loading up
my sister, mama and me

we had our first shower on the twenty-nineth of april
& it is amazing how giving and loving friends and family are
during such a special time
his mom told the old wise tale that i had never heard which is:
each time you have to cut a ribbon from a gift you make a baby
needless to say i made a lot of babies!
we were given all kinds of goodies
from crystal pitchers to kitchen appliances..
bakeware sets, silverware, pyrex glass containers..
the list goes on and on
i would stop and breath thinking i had finally reached our last gift
and another one would be in my lap before i could look down!
-we are very blessed-
but the shower giving isn't over
our next shower is in just a few days!

in my attempt to get ahead of myself
i have been slowly boxing up odds and ends
so that maybe the moving process won't be so bad
so far i have a count of ten boxes
..but before your eyes pop out your noggin'..
only two of them are clothes related
pretty good for a girl, right?
the other boxes are full of home decor' items
comforters, pillows, books..
i thought this plan would make my room look less cluttered
but it really hasn't
i am surrounded by brown boxes
all distinguishly labeled with a good ole sharpie

: )
